Iranian officials emphasize sovereignty, territorial integrity

Tehran (ISNA) - Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and the government spokesman Ali Bahadori Jahromi separately emphasized that Iran is strongly serious about its independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Hossein Amir-Abdollahian wrote on his official twitter account, "We have no jokes with anybody about Iran's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity".
Ali Bahadori Jahromi also referred to national interest of the country, as writing on his official twitter account, "We have no jokes with anybody over the national interest of our country".
The comments came following the joint statement by the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council and Russia.
On Monday, Russia and the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council issued a joint statement in which foreign ministers expressed their support for a UAE initiative to reach a peaceful solution to Iran's trio islands on the Parisian Gulf through bilateral negotiations or the International Court of Justice.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Nasser Kanaani has already reacted to the joint statement by denying it, while declaring, "The three Iranian islands [Abu Musa, Greater and Lesser Tunbs] belong to Iran forever. Issuing such a statement is at odd with Iran's friendly ties with neighboring countries".
