As part of the bilateral agreement between Lithuania and Germany on the assignment of the German Brigade to Lithuania, a bilateral Lithuanian-German military Exercise Griffin Storm will take place in Lithuania from 21 June to 7 July.

On 26 June, the General Silvestras Žukauskas Training Area (Pabradė, Švenčionys district) will host a Distinguished Visitors Day to present the exercise to the President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda, Lithuanian Minister of National Defence Arvydas Anušauskas, German Federal Minister of Defence Boris Pistorius and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who will travel to Lithuania together with the Permanent Representatives on the North Atlantic Council and the Chair of the Military Committee Admiral Rob Bauer.

A press conference is planned afterwards.

Since 16 June, around 1000 troops and 320 pieces of military equipment have been redeployed to Lithuania from Germany by road, ferry, air and rail. During the training, the German Brigade's Panzergrenadierbataillon 411, military engineering and reconnaissance units will plan joint operations with the Lithuanian Grand Duke Algirdas Infantry Battalion and will carry out combat tasks during field tactical exercises and live-fire combat.

This exercise continues the cycle of joint exercises that started in last year's September, when the Forward Command Element of the 41st Brigade was deployed in Lithuania. The Brigade plans and executes combat training with the Lithuanian Land Forces through regular field tactics, redeployment and live-fire exercises in Lithuania and Germany.
