Mr Bayramov,
Friends,
We are delighted to welcome you to Moscow.
We talked quite recently, also here, on December 5, 2022, and we agreed to hold a meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia on our territory today to continue discussions on the peace treaty.
We have been preparing for that meeting. Unfortunately, at the last moment, our Armenian colleagues refused to come to Moscow, citing "the situation on the ground." It is a pity to lose such an opportunity.
Today we will be happy to discuss our countries' plans in accordance with the decisions made by President of Russia Vladimir Putin, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan. Four trilateral statements have been approved. Work on them is underway. We would like to speed it up.
Whatever issues arise on the ground, I am confident that it is all the more necessary to meet, to negotiate, to build trust and to create the ground for them all to be settled.
