Colleagues,

I am very glad to meet with you in hospitable Astana.

Several different events are being held here, offering us an opportunity to meet on the sidelines of international events to discuss regional issues, including relations between our close friends, Armenia and Azerbaijan, in the context of the agreements reached by President of Russia Vladimir Putin, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan on November 9, 2020 and on January 11 and November 26, 2021. These statements, which were signed at the highest level, provided the basis for settling all aspects of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and establishing a lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus.

Of special importance is the coordination of a peace treaty, which will complement the agreements on unblocking economic and transport links and on delimitation through the establishment of a bilateral Azerbaijan-Armenia commission with consultative assistance provided by Russia.

Time flies, and the situation is changing rapidly. In this context, I would like to say that today we have a good opportunity to discuss this issue and to see what we can report to our leaders on the implementation of the agreements they signed.

I am delighted to have this opportunity. I have no doubt that today we will be able to see more clearly how we can move forward.
