Four Killed In Blast At Romanian Munitions Factory
November 18, 2021
Four people were killed and four others were injured in an explosion at a munitions factory in southern Romania, local media reported.
Local health officials said an antipersonnel mine exploded while several employees were working to defuse it.
The four injured are stable and conscious, the local emergencies service spokesman, Octavian Fulger, told the media.
An investigation has been opened into the incident, Fulger added.
According to the website of the plant's parent company, Energotech Group, the Babeni factory is a certified supplier for the Romanian Defense Ministry and NATO.
In 2019, a blast at the same factory killed a 22-year-old man.
