U.S. Bases In The Persian Gulf Go On Alert After Iranian Missiles Hit Nearby

Fox News correspondent Lucas Tomlinson says U.S. forces went on high alert after three missiles hit the waters near their military bases in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the Persian Gulf.
The incident occurred during the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps naval drill in Iran's coastal waters around the Strait of Hormuz.
An official also told Fox News that the missiles landed close enough to the U.S. airbases in Al-Uded in Qatar and Al-Dhafra in the UAE, to cause concern.-
CNN's Pentagon correspondent Barbara Starr also reported that after information showed that Iranian missiles were probably moving towards the American bases Al-Udeid and Al-Dhafra went on standby. The personnel also took shelter for a few minutes.
Citing American officials, Starr asserted that the measures were merely "precautionary."
The IRGC on Tuesday, July 28, kicked off the final stage of its large-scale wargame in the Persian Gulf off the strategic Strait of Hormuz, amid high tensions with the United States.
The drill, code-named as "Payambar A'zam 14" (Great Prophet 14), was the largest of its kind in the Persian Gulf.
Meanwhile, the IRGC's official site, Sepah News, said several regiments from the IRGC's navy and aerospace divisions participated in the high-profile military drill.
"The servicemen attending the war game exercised offensive operations using missiles, drones and vessels, offensive mine-laying operations and tactics to cut off the hypothetical enemy's naval connections, missile combat operations using helicopters, and launch of coast-to-sea missiles," the IRGC-affiliated Tasnim news agency reported.
The U.S. Navy has condemned the drill as "irresponsible and reckless behavior by Iran," calling it an attempt "to intimidate and coerce."
