Afghanistan protests kill 4, injure 19

Kabul, Nov 26, IRNA -- The protests against arresting a local commander by security forces in Afghanistan has claimed the lives of 4 and injured 19 others.

Speaking to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), the Afghan Health Ministry spokesman Vahid Majrouh said 4 people were killed and 19 others were injured as a result of the violence.

The demonstration began in western Kabul yesterday when security forces arrested Abdul Ghani Alipour, a commander of the popular uprisings against Taliban in Kabul.

Alipour is one of the leaders of the popular uprising who defended the people against Taliban attacks.

The intelligence office has recently announced that he was arrested on charges of extortion, kidnapping and illegal activities.

Meanwhile, the protests in Bamyan City has claimed the life of one and injured 16 more.
