Scores of Saudi aggressors killed in western Yemen

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, Nov 12, IRNA -- In an attack on Saudi aggressors in western Yemen, Yemeni forces killed at least 40 Saudi troops including some commanders and injured 60 more.

Yemeni armed forces have foiled Saudi aggressors' advance in west of Al Hudaydah airport, Yemeni TV Channel 'Al-Masirah' quoted the Yemen Armed Forces spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree as saying Sunday night.

During the attack, 12 armored cars were also destroyed, he said.

Yemeni forces also confiscated some weapons and ammunition, he added.

He also rejected enemy's claims as regard taking control of western coast saying the enemy is aimed to cover up its defeats.

Saudi Arabia and a number of its regional allies launched a devastating military campaign against Yemen in March 2015, with the aim of bringing back the government of Mansour Hadi back to power and crushing the country's Houthi Ansarullah movement.

Some 16,000 Yemenis have been killed and thousands more injured since the onset of the Saudi-led aggression.

The assaults of the Saudi-led coalition forces have failed to stop the Yemenis from resisting the aggression. Recently, the Yemeni army unveiled its home-made underground missile launching pads.
