IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Moscow, Nov 12, IRNA -- Taliban representatives told Russia that they had held scores of clandestine meetings with the US, Russian presidential envoy to Afghanistan said.
Taliban is ready for holding talks with Afghan government after reaching an agreement on US withdrawal from this country, Zamir Kabulov told reporters on Monday.
West has been defeated in Afghanistan war, he said, adding that Western forces were not able to establish peace during 17 years.
When the US and Western forces entered Afghanistan in 2001, Taliban did not control any area, but now they have taken control of 60% of the areas in Afghanistan, Kabulov said.
