Saudis suffer heavy blow in Jizan from Yemeni forces
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, Oct 9, IRNA -- Yemeni Army announced in a statement on Monday that the Army and popular committees inflicted heavy losses on Saudi Arabia in Jizan, south of the country.
According to Almasirah news website, during the operations, Yemeni Army and popular committees captured a number of villages and Saudi forces' positions.
They also destroyed three spying drones and three Abrams tanks, killing a number of Saudi forces.
Yemeni Army's special operations took place concurrent with the second anniversary of the Saudi air raid on a funeral ceremony in Sana'a.
In October 2016, Saudi jet fighters attacked funeral procession, killing 140 and wounding 525 others.
Meanwhile, dozens of Saudi Arabian mercenaries were killed or wounded over the past 24 hours in Yemeni Army's aerial and artillery operations.
Saudi Arabia and a number of its regional allies launched a devastating military campaign against Yemen in March 2015, with the aim of bringing back the government of Hadi back to power and crushing the country's Houthi Ansarullah movement.
Some 15,000 Yemenis have been killed and thousands more injured since the onset of the Saudi-led aggression.
The assaults of the Saudi-led coalition forces have failed to stop the Yemenis from resisting the aggression. Recently, the Yemeni army unveiled its home-made underground missile launching pads.
