UNICEF condemns Saudi killing Yemeni children
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, Aug 10, IRNA -- Head of the UN children entity condemned the Saudi-led air strike on Yemeni children that left at least 100 casualties.
'Attacks on children are absolutely unacceptable,' Henrietta Fore, the UN Children Fund (UNICEF) wrote on her official twitter page referring to Thursday air strike on a school bus with Yemeni children on board.
The Yemeni news agency, SABA, reported that the death toll rose to 43, most of whom are children under 13. The number of injured civilians also stood at 61.
'I'm horrified by the reported airstrike on innocent children, some with UNICEF backpacks, on a school bus in #Yemen. Enough is enough,' She said.
According to UNICEF, since the beginning of the intervention led by Saudi Arabia and its allies in Yemen in 2015, about 2,400 children have been killed and 3,600 maimed in Yemen.
