USS James E. Williams Enters U.S. 6th Fleet

ATLANTIC OCEAN (NNS) -- The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS James E. Williams (DDG 95) entered the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations May 27, as part of a routine deployment in support of maritime operations with NATO allies and partners.

While in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations, James E. Williams will work with NATO allies and partners to facilitate regional stability and to strengthen our enduring relationships with European nations.

James E. Williams departed with embarked Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 46, Det. 3.

James E. Williams will work with allies and regional partners to help develop and improve our maritime forces.

U.S. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied, joint, and interagency partners, in order to advance U.S. national interests and security and stability in Europe.
