Karzai condemns US using largest non-nuclear bomb in Afghanistan
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, April 14, IRNA -- The former president of Afghanistan condemned the US dropping of the largest non-nuclear bomb in Afghanistan in his Twitter account.
In his three twits, Karzai 'vehemently' and 'strongly' condemned the US dropping of the world's most powerful non-nuclear bomb in Afghanistan, adding, "This is not the war on terror but the inhuman and most brutal misuse of our country as testing ground for new and dangerous weapons".
He also wrote, "It is upon us, Afghans, to stop the USA".
On Thursday, the Pentagon announced that the US army had used the biggest non-nuclear bomb in a district named Achin in the eastern Nangarhar Province near the border of Pakistan to target a network of caves and tunnels in which ISIS terrorist were hiding.
This bomb, called "the Mother of all Bombs" was tested in 2003 and had never been used in battle since then. The bomb contained 11 tons of explosives and designed to destroy tunnels and caves.
According to Reuters, "White House spokesman Sean Spicer said the bombing 'targeted a system of tunnels and caves that ISIS fighters used to move around freely, making it easier for them to target U.S. military advisers and Afghan forces in the area.'"
