IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, Feb 11, IRNA -- Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani in a meeting with Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven in Tehran on Saturday underlined that the Syrian crisis does not have a military solution, but national unity is the best way for putting an end to the hostilities in that country.
"The formation of the national unity government is the best method for putting an end to animosities in Yemen and Syria," Larijani said during the meeting.
He pointed to long-term wars in Syria and Yemen, and said, "One of the reasons for all these insecurity in the region is that some countries suppose the solution to removal of problems in these countries is military invasion while we believe that the political solution through establishment of democracy and formation of a national unity government is the best method for putting an end to these hostilities.
He, meantime, said that Iran is a country where the highest-ranking official to president and Majlis deputies are elected by people which is one of positive points of our constitution.
"One of the problems of some regional countries is evading democracy and negligence towards its positive role in stability and strength of the countries," Majlis speaker said.
Larijani reiterated that according to Iran's constitution, no country can dissolve the parliament and Majlis has the power to impeach the ministers and even the president as they give them vote of confidence.
