07:51 04.11.2016
In 2016 a total of 500 ceasefire violations have been registered along India's border with Pakistan, a large number of them following the September strikes, local media report.
NEW DELHI (Sputnik) – Two-thirds of the violations were registered in the last five weeks, The Times of India said on Friday citing government officials.
Two hundred of the total 500 violations were recorded in the northern Jammu and Kashmir state, most of them following the September incident.
Tensions have been simmering between India and Pakistan after a deadly attack on the Uri military base in the India-administered Kashmir in September. New Delhi has accused Islamabad of backing terrorism in the disputed region, but Pakistan denied any role in insurgency.
