NAPLES, Italy (NNS) -- The Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group conducted strike missions in Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve from the Eastern Mediterranean Sea June 28.
Carrier strike groups demonstrate the mobility, flexibility and power projection capability of the Navy's globally deployed force -- anytime, anywhere.
Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group brings multi-mission capable platforms to the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations with strike, ballistic missile defense and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities.

The Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group entered the Mediterranean Sea June 13, and will continue to provide support to allies and partners, deter potential threats, and conduct strikes against ISIL operators and infrastructure in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.
