Ship carrying Iranian emergency supplies leaves for Yemen

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Bandar Abbas, May 11, IRNA -- 2,500 tons of Iranian contributions to the oppressed Yemeni nation loaded on Iran Shahed Khorramshahr Ship began sailing towards Yemeni coasts early Monday night.

Originally scheduled to sail for Yemen's Al Hadida Port, the ship left the Iranian port seen off by Hormuzgan provincial officials.

According to the IRNA correspondent the Iranian contributions to their Yemeni brethren in need include rice, flour, tuna fish, tents, blankets and medical supplies.

The captain of Iran Shahed Khorramshahr Ship told IRNA that the sea voyage from Bandar Abbas to Al Hadida Port will take ten days and the almost 1,500 nautical mile (about 3,000 kilometers) route will be the Persian Gulf, the Sea of Oman, the Aden Sea and the Red Sea.

The fighter jets of the Saudi-Arab-US coalition began pounding the Yemeni civilians inhumanely for 47 days, due to which over 3,500 Yemenis, including a large number of women and children have got killed and many more wounded thus far.

Among the main targets of the uneven, inhumane Saudi bombers are the poor Yemeni nation's infrastructures, such a ports, airports, bridges, power stations, schools and hospitals, similar to the target of the racist Israeli regime in oppressed Gaza Strip.
