Readout of Secretary of Defense Ash Carter's Phone Call with Republic of Korea Minister of National Defense Han Min-Koo
Today, Secretary Carter called Minister Han to thank him for his unwavering support following the attack on the U.S. Ambassador to the ROK, Mark Lippert. This was Secretary Carter's first conversation with Minister Han and they discussed the U.S.-ROK alliance's strong momentum.
Reflecting on their nations' longstanding alliance, Secretary Carter and Minister Han highlighted the deep and enduring defense partnership between the United States and the ROK.
The two leaders noted that they look forward to meeting in person soon and agreed to continue the strong institutional and personal relationship enjoyed by their predecessors.
