Readout of Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel's meeting with Lieutenant General Benjamin Gantz, Chief of the General Staff, Israeli Defense Forces
Pentagon Press Secretary Rear Adm. John Kirby provided the following readout:
Secretary Hagel met with the Israeli Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Gen. Benjamin Gantz at the Pentagon today.
Secretary Hagel thanked Lt. Gen. Gantz for his leadership and his professional and personal commitment to the Israeli Defense Forces over the last four years and wished him well in his future endeavors.
They also reaffirmed the strength of the U.S.-Israel relationship and discussed a range of regional security issues.
