Readout of Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel's Call with Israeli Minister of Defense Moshe Ya'alon
Pentagon Press Secretary Rear Adm. John Kirby provided the following readout:
Secretary Hagel spoke to Israeli Minister of Defense Moshe Ya'alon today. Secretary Hagel and Minister Ya'alon discussed a range of regional issues including efforts by the United States and the coalition partners to counter the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, and they reaffirmed the strength of the U.S.-Israel security relationship.
Today's phone call followed the seventh meeting between Secretary Hagel and Minister Ya'alon, which took place at the Pentagon in October 2014.
