MARSEILLE, France (NNS) -- Aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77) departed Marseille, France, after completing a scheduled port visit, Nov. 4.

'This visit to Marseille was an excellent opportunity for our Sailors to relax,' said Capt Andrew Loiselle, the commanding officer of George H.W. Bush. 'It was also a chance for all of us to learn more about France and French culture. I am extremely pleased that we were able to both experience Marseille and welcome some French guests on board our ship to meet our Sailors. We were also able to participate in discussions with the French navy on the continued importance of our close relationship operating together.'

Sailors had the opportunity to relax and enjoy the culture of Marseille. They enjoyed wine tasting tours, local food, sightseeing and the various cities surrounding Marseille including Paris.

George H.W. Bush hosted more than 200 distinguished visitors this port visit.
