
All Clear Issued in 'Active Shooter' Alert at US Army Base

The all clear has been give at an army base in the southern U.S. state of Virginia after reports of an "active shooter."
The Army says a female soldier inside a building on the Fort Lee Army base shot and wounded herself.
The base was put under lockdown for about an hour during the incident Monday.
Earlier Monday, the Fort Lee Army base said in a Twitter post that the base had been put on lockdown and personnel there had been told to enact active shooter protocols.
The Fort Lee base is located in central Virginia, about 40 kilometers south of Richmond and 217 kilometers south of Washington, D.C.
The base has a population of about 34,000 people, including service members from all branches of the military service, their families and government civilians and contractors.
