Readout of Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel's Call with UK Secretary of State for Defense Michael Fallon
Press Secretary Rear Adm. John Kirby provided the following readout:
On his way to Sydney, Australia, Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel spoke via telephone today with the United Kingdom's Secretary of State for Defense Michael Fallon about U.S. and UK efforts to relieve the humanitarian crisis in northern Iraq.
Secretary Hagel thanked Secretary Fallon for the UK's military contributions to humanitarian relief operations and pledged to stay in contact with our close ally during this crisis. Both leaders agreed to keep each other informed about developments and to look for additional ways to coordinate military operations.
