At least eight Afghan civilians, including a woman, have been killed in the latest US assassination drone attacks in eastern part of Afghanistan, Press TV reports.
According to the local police, the unmanned aircraft hit a house in the Wanat village, located in Nuristan's Waygal district, late on Monday, killing one woman and five men.
Meanwhile, overnight US-led airstrike in Afghanistan's east central province of Maidan Wardak claimed two lives.
The unrelenting US drone strikes come only one day after Afghan President Hamid Karzai stressed, during his meeting with US national security advisor Susan Rice, that he would not sign the controversial security deal with the US if "another [US] soldier steps foot into an Afghan home."
Karzai also emphasized that "US must provide Afghanistan with a guarantee that it will halt all military operations targeting civilian homes."
The Bilateral Security Agreement (BSA) was approved by the Grand Council of Afghanistan, Loya Jirga, comprised of Afghan tribal elders and other leaders on November 24.
The deal allows the US troops to stay in the war-torn country beyond 2014. It will also grant legal immunity to American troopers that remain in Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, the Taliban militant group has destroyed a military helicopter after it made an emergency landing, due to a technical glitch in the war-torn country's eastern province of Nangarhar.
There are some reports saying the helicopter belonged to US-led foreign forces, though, others suggesting that it was an Afghan army copter.
The incident took place in Nangarhar's western district of Sherzad.
The US-led NATO forces, as well as the Afghan national army have yet to make any comments on the incident.
