A court in Cairo has resumed the trial of former Egyptian dictator Hosni Mubarak and his two sons over their involvement in the violent crackdown during the North African country’s 2011 revolution.
Media reports say the ousted dictator was taken to the Cairo court by a military helicopter from Tora Prison Hospital on Monday.
Mubark's sons, Gamal and Alaa, along with former interior minister, Habib El-Adly, are also facing trial.
Mubarak and his top officials are accused of complicity in the killing of hundreds of protesters during the Egyptian revolution in 2011. The former dictator and his two sons are also facing corruption charges.
The ousted dictator received a life sentence in June 2012, but was granted a retrial in January 2013 due to some irregularities.
On Saturday, the court rejected all civil complaints filed on behalf of the victims' relatives. Some Egyptians are accusing the court of seeking to acquit the former dictator.
