Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel met with Turkish Minister of National Defense Ismet Yilmaz, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Davutoglu, and Undersecretary of the National Intelligence Organization Hakan Fidan today at the Pentagon.

Secretary Hagel and the ministers discussed the U.S. and Turkey bilateral defense relationship, including continued opportunities for military-to-military partnership.

Secretary Hagel reiterated the United States’ commitment to Turkey as our strong North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) ally and conveyed our strong support of its security interests, including the ongoing NATO deployment of Patriot missiles to southern Turkey.
