The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on October 24 said that “in response to the ongoing rocket fire at Israeli communities, a short while ago, IAF aircraft targeted a terror tunnel in the northern Gaza Strip and Armored Forces targeted terror activity sites.”
“Over 65 rockets have been fired at southern Israel from the Gaza Strip over the past 8 hours,” the IDF said. Three Thai workers were injured by rocket fire from Gaza into Israel on October 24, according to media reports.
On October 23 the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine claimed responsibility for a bomb attack near the border with Gaza that wounded an Israeli serviceman, Iranian state-owned news network Press TV reported. The Jerusalem Post said a blast was heard in the vicinity that the IDF believed was caused by a roadside bomb.
