Iran, Iraq call for enhanced defense cooperation

Tehran, Oct 3, IRNA -- Iranian Minister of Defense and Logistics of Armed Forces Brigadier-General Ahmad Vahidi and Iraqi Defense Minister Sadun ad-Dulaimi on Wednesday called for enhanced defense cooperation.
Vahidi said that defense cooperation between Iran and Iraq will help consolidate regional stability and security.
He said that cooperation in the field of national defense and mutual confidence building would help upgrade cooperation in other sectors as well.
Outlining Iranian scientific, technical, research, industrial and military progress, Vahidi said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is willing to share its experience with the friendly and brotherly nation of Iraq, especially in the defense sector.
Ad-Dulaimi said for his part that Iranian defense minister’s visit to Iraq is of high importance as will lead to consolidation of cooperation.
