Pakistani media reports say the commander of NATO-led troops in Afghanistan, U.S. General John Allen, visited Pakistan on July 1 for the second time in four days for talks on reopening NATO supply routes from Pakistan to Afghanistan.

Allen reportedly met Pakistani Army chief General Ashfaq Kayani and other Pakistani officials, including Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar in Islamabad.

Reports say U.S. Ambassador Cameron Munter was also present at the meetings. No further details were immediately available.

The talks came after Allen had met Kayani on June 27 in Rawalpindi.

The NATO supply routes to Afghanistan from Pakistan have been closed since November 2011, after a NATO air strike killed 24 Pakistani soldiers.
