NAVFAC Southwest Awards $12.3 Million Contract For Vehicle Maintenance Covers

SAN DIEGO (NNS) -- Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest awarded Allen Engineering Contractor Inc. of San Bernardino, Calif. a $12.3 million contract June 15 for the design and construction of tracked vehicle maintenance covers at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms.
"The concentrated effort of everyone involved enables us to provide safe, quality, and state of the art facilities for our warfighters, and this is no exception," said Nizar Farhat, NAVFAC Southwest construction manager for this project. "I'm very pleased and excited to be part of yet another world class facility to be constructed at MCAGCC."
Allen Engineering Contractor Inc. will provide for the design, engineering, and construction of primary and supporting facilities for 1st Tank Battalion at Twentynine Palms. The project provides related seismic features, anti-terrorism and force protection, built-in equipment, operation and maintenance support information, information systems, leadership in energy and environmental design, and federal Energy Acts compliance.
Work will be performed in Twentynine Palms, Calif., and is expected to be completed by March 2014.
