SAN DIEGO (NNS) -- Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southwest awarded a $100 million contract June 19 to five contractors for operation, maintenance and repair of facilities at locations within the NAVFAC Southwest area of responsibility (AOR).
Naval Industrial Services Support Joint Venture of Anchorage, Alaska; Tsay Construction & Services LLC of San Juan Pueblo, N.M.; Bara Infoware Inc. of San Ramon; Ameritac Inc. of Concord; and Acepex Management Corp. of Montclair were each awarded a multiple award service contract to provide services at facilities within the NAVFAC Southwest area of responsibility (AOR).
The contract was competitively bid through Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) website. The five contractors will compete for task orders under the terms and conditions of the awarded contract.
"This regional contract is a very dynamic contracting tool that has the capability to support our entire Southwest geographical area of responsibility and mitigate multiple service requirements for all of our supported commands," said Rob Niday, NAVFAC Southwest product line team leader for the contract. "This operation and maintenance multiple award service contract will be very effective and presents efficiencies in product delivery for my NAVFAC Southwest facility management and services teams, along with our NAVFAC Southwest acquisition community."
Contractors will provide services to operate, maintain and repair facilities, ground structures, personal property equipment and installed equipment and systems including electrical power, gas generation, wastewater treatment, steam and hot water, and water treatment systems.
"Delivering products and services quickly and efficiently to our supported commands is mine and my team's number one priority and this operation and maintenance multiple award service contract will assist us in getting that job done," said Niday.
Work is scheduled for completion by summer 2017.
