Israel 'Continues Gaza Strikes'
MOSCOW, June 23 (RIA Novosti) - Israel launched more airstrikes on the Gaza Strip overnight, after an attack on Friday in which two people were killed, al Jazeera television reported, citing Palestinian health officials.
At least 17 people were injured in Saturday's attacks, Hamas hospital officials said.
The strikes hit sites including a security compound belonging to the territory's ruling Islamist group Hamas in the centre of Gaza city.
The violence comes despite an Egypt-brokered ceasefire in force since Wednesday.
On Friday, Israeli airstrikes killed two Palestinians and injured four more.
The Israel Defense Force said it had "targeted a terrorist squad during preparations to fire a rocket at Israel from the central Gaza Strip."
The latest series of attacks began with air strikes on Monday morning, just hours after militants from the troubled Sinai Peninsula killed an Israeli construction worker.
Since Monday, at least 10 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli airstrike, while militants have fired more than 130 rockets and mortar rounds at Israel, one wounding four people after hitting a border post just north of Gaza.
