Turkey Hits Kurdish Targets In Northern Iraq
June 20, 2012
Turkey's military says attack helicopters and warplanes have pounded Kurdish rebel targets in northern Iraq after a rebel attack on Turkish forces near the Iraqi border left eight Turkish soldiers dead.
The Turkish military said on its website that the strikes killed 26 Kurdish rebels and one other rebel was captured alive.
The website said the helicopters and warplanes "effectively" hit Kurdish rebel targets but did not say when the attacks happened.
