Blast Hits Lithuanian Military Unit During Demining Exercise
16:24 18/04/2012 VILNIUS, April 18 (RIA Novosti) - A blast ripped through a Lithuanian military unit in Vilnius on Wednesday during demining exercise, with conflicting reports on casualties and the number of injuries.
According to the country’s Ministry for Territorial Protection in charge of the military, one person was killed and another one was injured in the blast.
Meanwhile, local emergencies services said several people had been injured, with no word about casualties.
According to preliminary data, the explosion occurred inside the building where the demining exercise took place at around 1 p.m. local time (10 a.m. GMT), the emergencies services said.
