Combined Force Captures Haqqani Facilitator
From an International Security Assistance Force Joint Command News Release
KABUL, Afghanistan, April 4, 2012 – An Afghan and coalition security force captured a Haqqani network facilitator during an operation in the Pul-e Alam district of Afghanistan’s Wardak province today, military officials reported.
The facilitator coordinated the placement of roadside bombs for attacks against Afghan and coalition forces throughout the district. The security force also detained an additional suspected insurgent.
In other Afghanistan operations today:
-- A combined force detained two suspects while searching for a Taliban facilitator in the Jeldak district of Zabul province. The facilitator provides weapons to insurgents for attacks in the Daman and Arghistan districts of Kandahar province.
-- A combined force detained a suspect while searching for a Taliban facilitator in the Qarghahi district of Laghman province. The facilitator provides weapons to insurgents for attacks against Afghan and coalition forces.
In operations yesterday:
-- In the Daman district of Kandahar province, a combined patrol found and destroyed 500 pounds of marijuana.
-- A combined force found and destroyed 3,150 pounds of drugs in the Chahar district of Nimroz province.
