TEHRAN (ISNA) - The Head of Iran's interest section in Egypt Mojtaba Amani said the country does aim to propagate Shia in Egypt.

Amani speaking in a press conference, stressed Iran is ready for all-out cooperation with Egypt and noted there have been some talks on resuming Iran-Egypt relations. Iran would open up embassy providing that the Egyptian response would be positive, he added.

Amani noted Iran believes there would be a strong will for resuming talks with the country on the condition that public demand is raised within Egypt's governing organizations.

Amani stressed Iran does not want to propagate Shia religion among Sunnis in Egypt, adding, "We could have done the same thing inside Iran, if we aimed to do so."

He pointed out the allegation is a big lie and an insult to Egyptian nation.
