Israel Aerospace Industries Awarded $36 Million Contracts for Electronic Counter-Measures Pods for Fighter Aircraft

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) was awarded $36 million contracts by two foreign customers for supplying the ELL-8212/22 Electronic Counter-Measures (ECM) Pods, for fighter aircraft protection.

These advanced systems provided by ELTA Systems Ltd., IAI's group and subsidiary are designed to enhance survivability of fighters and other military aircraft operating in dense radar-guided weapon systems environment. The ECM Pods provide mission oriented protection and allow easy reprogramming on flight-line, as well as operation adaptability to the current threat scenarios.

The exceptional capabilities of the ELL-8212/22 ECM Pods together with their compact size and light weight have caused them to be in demand around the world. Hundreds of these pods are operational on Western and Eastern fighter aircraft.

An Elta executive said: "The newly signed contracts for supplying the advanced protection systems will allow our customers a superior, innovative and effecitve protection for their fighter aircraft in operational missions. These contracts awards place ELTA as a world leader in supplying ECM pods for self protection of fighter aircraft ".
