US drone strike kills 4 in NW Pakistan
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Islamabad, Jan 23, IRNA -- At least four people were killed in a US drone strike in northwest Pakistan on Monday, security sources said.
The spy aircraft fired four missiles at two compounds located in Daigan and Muhammad Khel areas of North Waziristan tribal region, bordering Afghanistan.
There was no information about the identity of those killed in the strike.
US officials claim that suspected militants are hiding in the region and also launch cross border attacks into Afghanistan from there.
The United States resumed drone strikes after a two-month lull. There had been no US strike in Pakistan since mid-November after the relationship was badly hit by a NATO attack on two Pakistan border posts, killing 24 Pakistani soldiers.
