TEHRAN (ISNA) - Commander of Iranian border security forces Hossein Zolfaghari said the country is in talks with Pakistan for release of the three border guards.

The three Iranian border guards were arrested 3 days ago by Pakistani border guards following a conflict between Iranian forces and smugglers.

Two smugglers were killed, one injured and another one was arrested. The smugglers were found with 500 kg drugs and 1 car.

He said three Iranian border guards chased the smugglers and entered into Pakistani soil unintentionally where they were arrested by Pakistani forces.

Zolfaghari said Iranian border guards met with the three arrested forces and Iran has held talks with Pakistan on their release.

He rejected reports that a Pakistani citizen was killed by Iranian border guards.
