Iran, Afghanistan sign defense cooperation agreement

Tehran, Dec 14, IRNA -- Iran and Afghanistan at the end of the first meeting of their joint defense cooperation commission in Tehran singed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on expansion of defense cooperation.
According to the publicity department of the Defense Ministry, the MoU was inked by the two sides' officials.
During signing ceremony, the two sides expressed the hope that the agreement would help promote peace, stability and security in Afghanistan as well as in the entire region.
The MoU has called for promotion of training programs in the fields of logistics, techniques and engineering.
The Afghan military delegation during its stay in Tehran conferred with Iran’s minister of defense, foreign minister and head of Majlis national security and foreign policy commission on issues of mutual interests as well as regional developments.
The Afghan delegation also visited some Iranian defense facilities.
