Two more British soldiers killed in Afghanistan

London, Nov 18, IRNA -- Two British soldiers have been killed when a bomb hit their vehicle in Nahr-e Saraj, Helmand province, Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence has announced.
Both soldiers, serving with the Formation Reconnaissance Squadron, were on a patrol providing security in the Yakchal region when their armoured vehicle struck an improvised explosive device, resulting in the deaths of two of its crew.
Their deaths come after Lance Corporal Peter Eustace, deployed as a mortar fire controller, was also killed as a result of an improvised explosive device in Nahr-e Saraj on Wednesday and bring the total number of British soldiers killed in Afghanistan to 388 since 2001.
So far, 40 UK soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan this year, the lowest number since British troops were first deployed in Helmand province in 2006.
British casualties in the war reached their peak in 2009 and 2010, when fatalities average more than 100 a year, but the numbers were drastically reduced with the influx of US reinforcement in Helmand province last autumn.
