IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

New Delhi, Nov 10, IRNA -- Ahead of resumption of annual defence dialogue between 2 countries early next year, a Chinese Army delegation Wednesday concluded its 7-day visit to India, with Indian Army saying it has put defense exchanges between 2 countries back on track.

The eight-member People's Liberation Army (PLA) delegation led by Lt Gen Lang Youliang from Tibet Military Command of Chengdu Military Region visited various Army establishments and interacted with their India counterparts during the stay, pti reported quoting Army sources as said here, according to the PTI.

'The visit by PLA delegation has put the defence exchanges between the two countries back on track. Both sides expressed the desire to further promote bilateral defence exchanges and observed that peace and tranquillity continues to be maintained between the border troops,' an officer said.

The visit of the Chinese Army delegation comes after India sent its military team under the leadership of a Major General in June this year.

The PLA delegation visited New Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai.

The Indian army delegation had visited Beijing, Shanghai and Urumqi, they said.

After a pause because of the visa row, India has decided to resume the annual defence dialogue with China in January next year to discuss several key issues including resumption of hand-in-hand bilateral army exercise between the two nations.
