Three UN Employees Killed In Afghan Bombing

31.10.2011 12:06

The United Nations' High Commissioner for Refugees said three Afghans working for the agency were killed in a suicide bombing in the southern Afghan city of Kandahar today.

Two other staff members, also Afghans, were wounded in the attack.

Earlier today, the provincial police chief, Abdul Razzaq, said a suicide bomber and three gunmen attacked a compound housing UN and international aid groups.

All the attackers were killed.

The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Today's assault came two days after a suicide bomber killed 13 soldiers and civilian employees of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), in the deadliest single ground attack against the coalition in 10 years of war in Afghanistan.

Four Afghans were also killed in the October 29 attack.
