President Saleh returns to Yemen
09:17 23/09/2011 MOSCOW, September 23 (RIA Novosti) - Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh has returned to his home country after spending three months in a Saudi hospital.
Saleh has been in Saudi Arabia since June, when he was seriously injured in a rocket attack on his palace in the capital, Sanaa.
"Ali Abdullah Saleh, president of the republic, returned this morning to the land of the nation safely after a trip for treatment in Riyadh that lasted more than three months," al Jazeera quoted Yemen's state TV as saying on Friday.
Saleh has retained power despite months of protests against his 33-year rule.
Meanwhile, clashes have continued in Sanaa between government troops and anti-Saleh protesters.
More than 80 protesters have been killed since Sunday.
