NAVFAC Awards $300M Energy Architect-Engineering Contract

PORT HUENEME, Calif. (NNS) -- Specialty Center Acquisitions Naval Facilities Engineering Command (SCAN) awarded a maximum amount $300 Million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity architect-engineering (A/E) services contract July 27, to CH2M Hill/Clark Nexsen Energy Partners, J.V., Englewood, Colo.
The energy A/E and design services contract is for energy efficiency projects and services including shore facilities and utility systems at various locations worldwide. The performance period for the term of the contract consists of a base year plus four one-year option periods.
"This contract will provide NAVFAC with the capability to reach a highly-qualified A/E firm for energy program requirements encompassing traditional energy systems as well as renewable technologies," said NAVFAC Engineering Service Center Public Works Business Line Manager Mary Lingua. "Services can include energy surveys, design services from DD1391 preparation, design-build package preparation or full plans and specifications and other programmatic support."
Work will be performed at various Navy and Marine Corps facilities and other government facilities stateside (80 percent), and overseas (20 percent). This contract was competitively procured via the Navy Electronic Commerce Online website.
This initiative is one of many throughout the Navy and Marine Corps which will enable the Department of the Navy to achieve Secretary Ray Mabus' energy goals to improve our energy security and efficiency afloat and ashore, increase our energy independence, and help lead the nation toward a clean energy economy.
