NAVFAC Washington Awards $145 Million in Contracts to Small Businesses

WASHINGTON (NNS) -- Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Washington awarded contracts to two small businesses worth $68 million and $78 million for work to be performed at Naval District Washington (NDW) July 28.
"We are always pleased to award these high-value contracts to small businesses and small-disadvantaged businesses," said Allison Evans, NAVFAC Washington lead deputy for small business. "Awards such as these underscore NAVFAC's commitment to the increased use of small business concerns."
Diversity Service Contracting, Inc., a small disadvantaged business (8a) based in North Carolina, was awarded a $67,658,854 contract to perform pest control, grounds maintenance, street sweeping, snow removal operations, janitorial services, and base support vehicles and equipment (transportation) maintenance at NAS Patuxent River beginning Oct. 1.
LAE-NDW JV, a minority-owned small business based in Maryland, was awarded a seven-year, $78,315,612 contract for janitorial services throughout NDW. The indefinite quantity, indefinite delivery contract will cover services for up to seven years, beginning Oct. 1.
