- Russia to deliver five MiG-29K fighters to India by yearend RIA Novosti 13 Aug 2011 -- Russia's MiG aircraft maker will deliver a final batch of five MiG-29K/KUB carrier-based fighters to the Indian Navy under a 2004 contract by the end of this year, the company said.

Africa VOA 13 Aug 2011 -- Current and former U.S. representatives at the United Nations Food and Agriculture agencies Saturday wrapped up their three-day visit to Kenya to assess the international response to the Horn of Africa's ongoing drought and famine. They said aid agencies are able to access more areas in southern Somalia and that aid is reaching people in need, but more must be done.
- Somali Refugees Move to New Site in Kenya VOA 13 Aug 2011 -- The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees says it will start moving Somali refugee families into a new area of Kenya's overcrowded Dadaab refugee complex. The new site, known as Kambioos, is close to the Hagadera camp, one of Dadaab's three refugee camps.
- US Citizen Kidnapped in Pakistan VOA 13 Aug 2011 -- At least eight armed men have abducted an American citizen from his home in the Eastern Pakistani City of Lahore. U.S. authorities confirmed the incident and said they are working with Pakistani law enforcement to investigate what happened. So far, no one has claimed responsibility for the kidnapping and no communication or demands have been received by authorities.

- Tymoshenko says fears for safety in prison RIA Novosti 13 Aug 2011 -- Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, detained on August 5 following a motion by prosecutors, is afraid of being killed while in prison, Tymoshenko told EUobserver in an interview, published late on Friday.
