- Coalition Helicopter Goes Down in Afghanistan Killing 38 VOA 06 Aug 2011 -- A NATO helicopter has gone down in Eastern Afghanistan. The international coalition confirms the crash but did not give a cause. Afghan President Hamid Karzai says 31 U.S. Special Forces troops and 7 Afghan troops died in the crash. An investigation has begun.
