TEHRAN (ISNA)-Iranian ambassador to Afghanistan Fada Hossein Maleki said serial murders of Afghan military commanders and political leaders show the US scenario to represent Afghans as insufficient.
"Serial murders of Afghan military commanders and political leaders are not irrelevant to security transfer to Afghans and the US scenario to represent Afghans incapable and inefficient," he told ISNA.
He said, "Americans should have transferred security to Afghans 10 years ago. The history has shown that Afghans are capable to run their own country."
"Assassination of Afghan political leaders and military commanders demonstrate a new scenario in the region which came following withdrawal of the first US group's exit from the country. Recent terrorist attacks are not irrelevant to security transfer in Afghanistan. Americans intend to represent Afghans incapable in providing security."
Also regarding some claims raised by US officials that certain Taliban leaders are staying in Iran, he said, "this is a claim raised by Americans. They make such comments whereas they hold talks with Taliban. The US negotiation with Taliban is a political scandal. They have spoken of battling Taliban over 10 years and now are raising the issue of dialogue."
"The international community has failed to comply with its commitments to support and protect Afghan security and national forces. The issue caused Afghan military troops' failure in fulfilling its commitments and has created mentality that Afghans are incapable of providing security of their own state," he continued.
