MILLINGTON, Tenn. (NNS) -- The commanding officer of Navy Recruiting District (NRD) Nashville was relieved of duty by Commander, Navy Recruiting Command July 20 due to a loss of confidence in his ability to command.
Cmdr. Jason Strength was found to have acted in an unprofessional manner while on liberty in the presence of subordinate Navy personnel, and also, while in uniform while acting in an official capacity in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Cmdr. David James, NRD Nashville's executive officer, has been assigned as the acting commanding officer until a permanent commanding officer is identified and assigned.
Strength has been assigned to the Navy Operation Support Center in Nashville.
